ORANGE you glad it's Friday?

I'm not a big orange lover- the fruit or the color. But these outfits are changing my mind. Who knew orange could be so chic? And who knew I would ever be wishing for an orange maxi skirt?

MUST have

I'm loving Anthropologie's Must-Have Collection. Everything looks so cool and comfortable yet chic. I'll make it easy for you, Anthro. I'll just take one of each. Thanks.

birthday BOOTS

I have a quick minute and must share with you my favorite purchase of the year made a couple of weeks ago with my birthday money. I love birthday money. It's so much better than regular money because you can just buy fun and slightly frivolous or extravagant things with it. My extravagant birthday purchase was these Born boots.

They make every outfit I wear 100 times more exciting. That much excitement packed into one outfit element is definitely worth the dollars hubby earned, gave me, and I spent.

jumpin' JEGGINGS

I haven't been to gap.com in a while so I don't know if this is a new feature or not... but I just got on to look at their jeggings and nearly had a heart attack when the legs started moving and posing for me. I felt like I was looking at a trading card Harry Potter-style -- (nerd alert). (And yes, I am jumpy.) But I must say that it's a helpful little addition, being able to see the way the pants move. I'm not sure if I'm on board for the whole jeggings fad because of way too many sightings of painted on ones that looked as though they were about to burst at our county fair... but if all jeggings were as tasteful as these, I'd probably give the fad a thumbs up and throw some into my own shopping cart as well.

i need a WEDDING

I most definitely need an occasion to wear this J. Crew silk chiffon skirt for. C'mon, friends... give me a wedding to go to!

i love me some KEDS

Back in the day I thought of Keds as mom shoes, then while I was in college, I found a pair of cute slip-on Keds at a discount store for $10 and snatched them up. I was ecstatic when I found that they were comfortable as comfort and shoes were two words I never used together in a sentence. (I was still trying to find a husband at that point, so comfort had to be sacrificed for beauty..... ironically, it wasn't until I stopped trying to impress and started dressing for fun and comfort that I did find my hubby.) Later that year I found another pair of Keds at the same discount store and bought them immediately. To this day, my Keds are some of my favorite shoes and I haven't paid more than $12 for a pair... not because I refuse to, but because I keep finding them at discount stores. Well, the day I may end up paying full price is drawing near because Keds has come out with some pretty fabulous summer styles and colors and I want to get my hands on them... or rather my feet in them... before they are discontinued. Cute, comfortable shoes cannot be denied access to my feet.

anthropologie + a budget= RUCHE

I bookmark so many sites that sometimes ones I want to revisit get lost in the shuffle. How Ruche has been in my shop links without being revisited by me, I will never know. Luckily I just refound it and am making a mental note to visit often. Ruche is like Anthropologie on a smaller scale and on a tighter budget (as in clothing starting in the $20 range and accessories starting under $10). Works for me! There are gorgeous, feminine details in each piece and it is hard to close the site without dropping something in your cart. Luckily (or not), the beauties I wanted the most are sold out (these perfect boots). But maybe next time, I won't be so lucky and I will actually have to fight the shopping urge...

give me a REASON

I need a reason to wear this dress. Unfortunately, hubby and I have no reason to be invited to black tie events... and this is obviously not wedding guest appropriate. It's probably better I have no reason to wear it... because that leaves me with no reason to buy it.

Head over to Net-a-Porter for the Win Your Wishlist Contest. I have to admit that this dress may end up on my wishlist, and if I happen to win, I will FIND a reason to wear it.

style twin: GINNIFER GOODWIN

I have been a Ginnifer Goodwin (and Justin Long) fan since the Ed days. (I wish someone would put that show on DVD!) I loved her as a quirky little high schooler and lately I am loving her as her own glamorous self. Seriously, with her short sassy haircut and can't-make-a-wrong-move fashion sense, could she be any cuter? I don't think I have seen her wear an outfit lately that I myself wouldn't wear-- if I ever had a reason to be on the red carpet. I like to think she is my "if I were famous" fashion twin. The glamour, the flawless make-up, sassy but natural hair- long or short, feminine but semi-funky style, luscious fabrics and all of the gorgeous color palettes she chooses (often seen in jewel tones- my favorite)... it's like she's reading my mind.

[All the photos were nabbed straight from Google image searches. Forgive me, but I'm not even going to try to track them back to the original sources.]

WEDDING attire

Happy Monday! Well, just when I thought wedding season was over, hubby and I received four more invites. That means 12 weddings between May and the first week of October this year. I didn't even realize we had that many single friends left! I have already worn the life out of my $5 red dress, but my wallet isn't up to the task of purchasing anymore weddingwear. Let's pretend for a minute that I have money to burn.

sf renegade craft fair: MARYINK

Maryink has long been one of my favorite Etsy stores. I love their tees and am pretty sure I could live in them, and their silk-screened votive holders have the sweetest designs.... ferris wheels, cameos, quails, and more. A good evening would be: wearing one of their tees to relax on the couch with a book, a cup of tea, and some candles lit within their votive holders. I am definitely stopping by their booth at the San Francisco Renegade Fair. If you aren't able to visit them there, please stop by their Etsy shop to come up with a Maryink scenario of your own.

mail call: URBAN OUTFITTERS MAG

I received the new Urban Outfitters mag in the mail today. I'll admit that I'm not so much a fan of the nakedness on the cover (read as: I wish they would recall the mag, put some clothes on that girl, and then resend it), it does nothing to make me want to buy that necklace... but I'm loving the tees from page 16-17. They are all the kind of easy, breezy fashion I am into right now. The stripes, florals, and neutrals are perfection. I would wear any one of them.... with pants.

thank you, THE SARTORIALIST

My single favorite shot from The Sartorialist. I am a follower and love his work, but when this post popped up on my screen today, I knew this will always be my favorite. I want to be this woman. The hat, the floral statement necklace, an easy tank and boyfriend jeans, those glamorous bracelets and red lips. It's perfection, is it not?

In other Sartorialist news- Refinery 29 did a guide on how to be shot by The Sartorialist (as pointed out by Jo). So funny, I had to share.

adopt an OUTFIT

Sherwood Forest Romper

I have seen this Sherwood Forest romper on three different sites in the last week. I am pretty sure that must be a sign that it is supposed to come home and live with me. And of course, if I'm going to give the romper a home, I can't leave these poor Sam Edelman sandals out in the cold...

... and if I'm making a home for rompers and sandals, I shouldn't discriminate against this Buoyant Bib Necklace...

... and a necklace won't feel at home without another piece of jewelry to keep it company, so I just have to adopt this ruby ring...

Ruby

... and now my good deeds for the day are done-- another outfit has found a loving home. It feels so good to give back.

LIROLA envy

Oh yes. My closet needs some of this.

If I'm not mistaken, yours does too.

PIECES of me

I'm not much of a one-piece girl, mostly because my long torso makes it next to impossible to find a suit that fits... but also because once I put a one-piece on, the suit looks miles tall. But, I have to admit, this suit has even me, the one-piece-aphobe, reconsidering my bathing suit beliefs.

smitten with SLOUCHY LEGGINGS

I got my first toast mag in the mail yesterday. What a feast for my eyes! I can't even tell you how many things I adore in there. The article of clothing that caught my attention the most was the slouchy leggings, or churidar. They look so comfy and perfectly adorable with every outfit they are paired with. I am definitely smitten.
