nice to meet you, KIDDINS

My friend Jess recently opened up the etsy shop Kiddins and I am so glad. She is a talented graphic designer and has an amazing imagination that feeds perfectly into her work. She is selling fabric and notecards and will hopefully start a line of baby clothes someday- someday before I am done having children. Right, Jess? : ) Check out her etsy shop and also check out more of her fabric designs on Spoonflower.

nice to meet you, BRENDAN CASS

I am loving the works of Brendan Cass (found on Katy Elliott's blog). For quite some time now hubby and I have been looking for art that resonates with both of us- something we both love. As soon as we saw Brendan Cass' paintings, we were in agreement that if we had thousands to spend on a painting, it would be Brendan Cass' Ultrecht. His translations of nature and the world around us are beautiful with a colorful, dreamlike quality. I appreciate that the tone of his paintings is not too serious and that there is no rigid perfectionism in his style. He presents a rose-colored view of his travels that makes you want to visit each location and enjoy the simplicity of its beauty.

nice to meet you, LIGHT LOCATIONS

I was making my way through a maze of design and decor blogs tonight, as I often do, and was introduced to a gem of a site via please sir. I don't know about you, but I love to see home interiors. Every time I come across a house tour on a decor blog, I can't wait to visit each room and see what unique spin the homeowner puts on decorating. If anyone knows of a blog that is solely house tours, please tell me because I will be ecstatic. I think this site comes close. Let me introduce you to Light Locations. Light Locations is a site dedicated to providing beautiful and unique locations to the film and photographic industries. I'm not in the film or photographic industry, but I am in the nosy neighbor club and I want to sneak a peek inside these homes and yours if you'll let me. Take a looky-loo with me...

See, now wasn't that fun? Now you are ready to join my nosy neighbor club. You know you want to.

nice to meet you, ALISON KENDALL

One of the best things about my favorite coffee shop, Flying Goat Coffee, (besides the amazing drinks and scones) is that once a month or so they fill the walls with art from a local Sonoma County artist. It makes standing in line that much more interesting and introduces their patrons to local talent. This last week they hung art from Alison Kendall. Her art is unlike anything they have had for a while. When I walked in for my soy chai latte (which is deliciosa), I immediately wanted half of the pieces. The colors are all soothing pastels, blues, greens and only happy colors, and her illustrations, often mixing nature and technology, are quirky and precise. Upon reading her bio, I learned she has her B.S. in Marine Biology and Master's in science illustration, which explains the precision of her sketches and constant presence of nature in her pieces. She is a very talented artist that I would love to introduce you to now:
