you should be a STAR

Did you ever want to be one of your favorite old-timesy actresses? Maybe Ava Gardner or Ingrid Bergman? Or maybe you were an 80's kid who always wanted to be Molly Ringwald. If you've given up on your dream to be Audrey Hepburn or Brigitte Bardot then you probably shouldn't look at the new etsy store, Thrush. You probably shouldn't look at the beautiful dresses and accessories that can turn you into a starlet. You should probably avert your eyes from the photos below.

smitten with JADITE & MILK GLASS

I have officially started a milk glass collection thanks to The Goodwill, The Salvation Army, and my grandma. I love the milky whiteness. It reminds me of the days when I used to drink milk like it was water, the days before I was lactose intollerant. If I can't have my milk, I'll just have to have my milk glass.

I was flipping through some books at Borders and saw a beautiful collection of milk glass and jadite glass. The mint green and pure white complement each other perfectly and the moment I saw that picture, I knew that it had to be my new collection. I love color too much to keep my collection to only white. Of course the milk glass will always outnumber the jadite because it's not often I find jadite glass for 99 cents at the thrift store.

I am not the only one out there loving all this beautiful glass. Look at the enchanting collections below- big and small.

I guess what the commercials say is true: Milk. It does a body good.

APOTHECARY TABLES of yore

The first time I ever heard of an apothecary table was in the Friends episode The One with the Apothecary Table where Rachel bought her apothecary table from Pottery Barn and was trying to convince Pheobe that it was authentic.
I remember loving all the little drawers and have wanted one ever since. I keeping seeing old crackled or faded ones with tons of personality in antique stores, but they are always out of my price range. I don't really know what I would do with so many little drawers, but I'm sure I could find lots of little things to put in them. And I'm sure you have plenty of homeless little things too. Maybe enough to buy your own apothecary table...

feeling BLUE

Someday when our living room is done, I will paint it blue. It's not often that I find something I love. I usually just like a lot of things. But whenever I see a room that is painted some shade of blue (mainly aqua or turquoise), I love it.

and Happy December!

get well SOON

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. I know, I dropped off the face of the planet for a few days there, but packing caught me off guard and then we were off to SoCal for Thanksgiving. We caravanned with hubby's family, had Thanksgiving with grandma and grandpa and then spent two days at the happiest place on earth. My body decided it probably isn't the happiest place on earth because now, after a marathon 4 days of driving and walking and telling my tired body to silence itself, I am at home sick. So in the spirit of illness, here are some etsy happy thoughts and get well wishes for myself and all of you sickies out there.

a little vitamin C

to keep the warmth from escaping out your toes

for your chicken noodle soup

in lieu of a bouquet of flowers

you can never have too many flowers when sick

for tired shoulders

something bright and cheery to keep warm

to soothe away the body aches

a sweet for when we are starting to feel better

and don't forget...
