Plaid and I were serendipitiously reunited this winter. My mom and I were hunting for Christmas craft materials in the beginning of December and I passed a rack of plaid and a fresh love for plaid washed over me. I brought a teal plaid over to my mom and told her I had to find some use for it. She laughed at my enthusiasm over plaid. After all, plaid is always around somewhere--- on men's work shirts, school girls' skirts, and your neighbor's Yorkie's little dog shirt. But plaid and I parted ways halfway through high school and I hadn't looked on it with favor again until the beautiful teal plaid showed itself to me in Joann. I have since put a plaid pillow on my couch, pulled my rarely worn plaid shirt out of the closet to spend the day with me, and loved on hubby's new plaid flannel shirts. It's official. I am once again smitten with plaid.

Oh, how I wish Living Etc. was a U.S. based mag so it didn't cost as much as a book every month. Jess, one of my Lovely Package Exchange partners, lives in London and sent me the September issue of Living Etc. (Yay!) I am in love with that particular issue, but just in love with the mag in general. As I was flipping through it I felt at home with the styles and colors. I haven't connected to a mag like that since Domino. *tear* At least we can enjoy the Living Etc. site... until we all move on over to the other side of the pond.

Hubby has long made fun of me for my obsession with gold. He likes to send his impression of Austin Powers my way: "I like gooooold"... not because either of us like that movie, but just because it fits my gold obsession. I barely ever wear silver and always prefer my jewelry in gold. And I prefer gold in the house for decor except the bathroom or kitchen. I'm not sure when the gold obsession started and I don't know if it will ever end, but it continues in this post- for you.

My Etsy favorites list is always filled with vintage tins. I have dreams of owning a vintage tin collection to store teas and such in. The collection has not yet been started, but someday there will be a variety of floral, turquoise, and pastel patterned tins sitting atop my china cabinet. And when that happens, you will be the first to know... if the world has not moved onto bigger and better forms of technology by then.
